SCOT - Youth Exchange - Cumnock / Scotland

Scotland - the home of William Walace "Braveheart" and Rob Roy and the place where he created Robert Burns. This is where men wear kilts and the national delicacy is "haggis". This is a place where English is spoken, but it is difficult to understand.

And this is where our next exchange took place, in which participants from Scotland, Cyprus and Poland took part. Together, the week spent was a great opportunity to learn to work in a group, get to know other cultures, learn their dances and customs and taste their delicacies.

Patience and mutual understanding are the key in such moments. Thanks to interesting workshops, wonderful intercultural evening, "Scotish got talents" presentation, participation in field games, visiting Edinburgh we have learned a lot from each other. We understood how much we are connected despite the distance separating us. But also that despite many differences, we can do a lot together.

I hope that the friendships that have been made will last a long time and we will have many more opportunities to meet on subsequent projects.

I would also like to thank the organizers for the enormous amount of work they have put in to prepare this project, as well as the leaders and participants of the Scottish and Cypriot groups for all these shared moments. And Helena and my group for the great preparation and wonderful presentation of our hidden talents and the legend of the Wawel dragon.

And thanks to Janice and Lynne, I also had the opportunity to visit a curling stone producer and feel Scottish for a while wearing a traditional Scottish outfit.
