The meeting with the representatives of Caritas School Circles began with a prayer, greeting, introductory speech and presentation of the workshop program by director. Bydgoszcz's Caritas, Fr. Prelate Wojciech Przybyła. We then moved on to the point "why should we as Catholics be concerned with the climate?" based on the papal encyclical Laudato Si.
After the coffee break, a new person who will be responsible for voluntary work in Caritas in Bydgoszcz, Sr. Aleksandra, introduced herself, who briefly presented her vision of cooperation with Caritas School Circles and presented the program of activities for the coming months, taking into account already implemented projects and those that are planned.
After this introduction, we moved on to the presentation of the Laudato Si project. The diocesan animator discussed the general assumptions and what has happened so far.
After the lunch break, 2 teams participating in the workshop talked about their activities from the perspective of the participants of this project, sharing their experiences and encouraging other participants of the meeting to undertake similar initiatives. There were also a lot of questions about the Laudato Si project and addressed directly to the representatives of the teams that have already implemented these projects.
After another coffee break, we invited the participants of the meeting to try to present their ideas for solving their local problems related to broadly understood ecology. There were some interesting threads, but also a lot of questions and doubts, which were answered mainly by the diocesan animator. Based on their experiences from completed projects, representatives of SKC Wojnowo and SKC Trzeciewnica also joined the discussion. And these were very valuable comments, because they were presented by those who realized their own projects.
During the workshops, you could also see the "Garbage second life" exhibition showing what can be made of the proverbial garbage.
At the end, we summed up everything that had happened during these workshops and parted with hope for further meetings and working together on further joint projects and initiatives.
