The life is full of surprises. And one of them was an invitation to participate in the only unique event in the country, EDU OFFSHORE WIND 2024, which presents the developing labor market in the green energy industry in Poland, and which is organized by Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Gdańsk International Fair at the AMBER EXPO Exhibition and Congress Center.
The invitation to participate was also an unusual challenge because, in keeping with the convention of the event, we were to build... a windmill made of plastic bottles! Building "variety" from bottles is no stranger to us, because for many years we have been organizing The Great Bottle Race during the "Ster na Bydgoszcz" event in Bydgoszcz. But this time the bar was set very high, because the windmill was supposed to resemble those in wind farms, be tall and the propellers were supposed to rotate. I must admit that it was not easy, but... Well, when unusual problems arise, you have to find unusual solutions. And I think we succeeded. The nearly 4-meter high windmill looked beautiful and attracted the attention of many visitors who eagerly took photos with it.
Our joint idea, together with the event organizers, was to draw the guests' attention to problems related to broadly understood environmental protection and to encourage them to reflect on their impact on the environment and take small, everyday actions to protect our planet.
I would also like to calm down the doubters, because all the bottles used were recycled and this was possible thanks to the Tele-Fonika Kable company from Bydgoszcz, which collected these bottles for us at its plant. Thank you very much
