Thanks to our friend Jan Kucharski from Bydgoszcz's Auction House we could participate in great event that took place during Children's Day on “Dar Pomorza” ship in Gdynia. Its aim was to help disabled Julka Biernacka.
Julka's parents said: “Our daughter was born in 24th week of cervical pregnancy, it's probably the only case in Poland. Pathological pregnancy undiagnosed by doctors and premature birth led to a number of defects of less than 600g child, and deprived us of possibility of another motherhood. Julka is an amazing girl, blind with a number of disabilities (see more on http://www.julka.webd.pl/). Rehabilitation must be carried out on many levels simultaneously. Julka has already made a long way to be healthy and independent, and progress she made is astonishing. We believe that there is more that can be done!” I admire an amazing work, that is done by Julka's parents every day, and enormity of challenges facing them.
And that's why, without hesitation, we provided some of our gadgets on the auction, which took place during the event to support the rehabilitation of Julka.
Thanks to Stanislawa Kieznikowicz, who won a ball with autograph of NBA star Tony Parker, Jacek Krajewski, who won 4 t-shirts with autographs of volleyball players that was starting on 2009 WEVC and a poster with autograph of electronic music star – Jean Michelle Jarre, and Radoslaw Gronikowski, who won original curling stone, we were able to collect 3.800zł. It is worth believing in human hearts' goodness!
In addition to the enormous satisfaction that we could help Julka's parents, we had a possibility to visit this wonderful frigate and meet few secrets about it, accompanied by the captain Jan Sokolowski.
