A new Christmas tree? Well, not really. Do you remember our last year's Christmas tree? It's the same, only lifted. 1.200 plastic bottles have been reused. The idea of recycling is guided by ProNatura
which once again in this symbolic way draws the attention of the citizens of Bydgoszcz to the problems that are painfully troubling our civilization - pollution of the environment, segregation of rubbish and waste, recycling.
We "produce" huge amounts of garbage, but most of us have no idea how many of them are and what happens to them when we throw them into a garbage container. It's just a bag or two. But if we multiply it by the number of inhabitants of, for example, Bydgoszcz, this is really a lot.
Is this a local or global problem? In the north of the Pacific Ocean, northeast of the Hawaii archipelago, there is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Great is the right word - according to some experts, the size is comparable to France. Others say that it is already much bigger.
Well, you say, but Hawaii is not our story. And most say it's not our problem, because it's so far away. Ok, let's look closer and let's get through our forests. Something tells you that? And yet much of what lies there can be recovered and remade. But it's easier to throw away. Ask what we can do? Let's start with each other!
Christmas time is a time of reflection, meetings with loved ones, gifts so expected by children. And what "gift" will we leave to the next generations, if everyone, without exception, does not take care of our common environment?
That is why it is so important that we begin to realize how important recycling is. Many examples on the internet also show that with a little ingenuity and creativity, it can be fantastic fun. Our Christmas tree can be a great example. And other examples you can see here.
