The weather during this year's "Ster na Bydgoszcz" did not spoil us, but we were tough and full of faith that we would manage.
It was also a small jubilee for us, because we organized The Great Bottle Race for the 10th time. And we did it, among others because we had the support of our great sponsors, whom we thank very much.
It was difficult weeks for us to have tedious and exhausting preparations, but when you see the teams preparing and getting involved not only in the Race itself, fatigue is gone immediately.
Before we started the main rivalry, two additional competitions took place:
- "beauty" - in which for a week before the Race Internet users voted for the coolest boat and the winner of the competition was the Corimp team
- "noise" - before launching, the fans gathered on Wyspa Młyńska making noise decide which boat they like the most and this time the loudest cheering team had Eximo Project
Both teams also received special cups.
And finally the time has come for the most important competition - The Great Bottle Race. It should be remembered that all competing teams get the same materials and the same amount, that is 360 empty plastic bottles, caps, adhesive tape and stretch film.What's important, they design and build their boats themselves.Paddles prepared by the organizer are made of shovels and plastic boards for cutting vegetables, and the drive, of course, is only the strength of human muscles.
Who exactly did we see this year at the start? Teams every year surprise us with their ingenuity and creative creativity. There were sharks, football field, bottle, skyscraper, helicopter and even boat "uss concrete". Human creativity knows no limits.
Two teams in the Race were also honored by their anniversary - Housing Cooperative "Budowlani", 60 years old, and 10 years - Pronatura, which "additionally" won the race.
As usual, there was a lot of laughter and fun before the race, but at the start the jokes ended and the teams joined the "serious" competition. The struggle was fierce, full of surprising turns and changes on the lead. Unfortunately, not all teams managed to finish the race and the final classification is as follows:

And for the first 3 teams packages to the Entertainment Park founded by Myslecinek Forest Park Culture and Recreation.

We have not watched and it's been over 10 years during which so many things have been going on, so many different teams have started and we have seen so many exceptional projects. I hope that many years ahead of us and many times the teams that are starting will surprise us with their "creativity".
