Wałbrzych was already the 21st city in Poland, in which, together with the partners of this action, we convinced and we would convince you that it is worth wearing reflectors. But Wałbrzych is also a unique and new experience for us, because for the first time we could not use our bus to promote our activities. But our idea appealed to the city authorities so much that they offered the possibility of using Citylights, which will be presented at public transport stops for 6 months.
With the support of the City Hall in Wałbrzych, we organized a press conference in the town hall combined with the presentation of this unique action, which was hosted by president Roman Szełemej and deputy president Sylwia Bielawska.
We are also very happy to cooperate with the local Police and City Guards, because it is these institutions that do everyday difficult work, explaining to residents various aspects of broadly understood security, including the need to be visible after dark.
The topic of safety comes up especially during the next tragedy on the road. And here I am reminded of our old proverb, "a wise Pole after injury". Only why this proverbial Pole cannot be wise before harm. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to break certain stereotypes and people's habits. Everyday I hear that "it doesn't concern us", "I drive everywhere", "I don't walk in the dark" and many other, sometimes senseless arguments.
Together with the Partners of this action, we want to make people, in a sense, reflect, think and believe that REFLECTIVES DON'T SUCKS.
Our main goal was to produce "magic" tubes, which in a very simple, but also very effective way show if and why you should wear reflectives. They will fall into the hands of the action Partners, so soon the residents of Wałbrzych will be able to see how big the difference is between the one who has reflectives and the one who doesn't.
Thanks to several unique companies, we managed to implement this action. Why unique? Because in times of ruthless pressure on profit and ad hoc benefits, they believed and supported the initiative whose effects will have a long-term dimension. They supported something that would not give them direct benefits, but that was not the most important thing. It turned out that thanks to such joint actions we have a chance to improve the security of the local community. And for that I would like to thank them very much.
