Behind us is the 12th edition of "Ster na Bydgoszcz", prepared and organized by the City of Bydgoszcz.
We are only one year younger than this great event and that is why we have organized The Great Bottle Race for the 11th time. It was possible thanks to the support of our great sponsors, whom we thank very much.
The time that we devoted to the preparations for The Race was more than compensated by teams that, apart from building unique boats, are more and more willing to come up with interesting and unusual outfits for the crews. There are also "ovarian" films, such as the one produced by the Eximo Project and actually the Convent of the Digital Fortress, because they chose this name in the competition they announced.
Apart from the main competition on the water, there was also another, equally fierce fight for exceptional laurels:
Well, get what you've been waiting for, the final classification and place at the finish line. But before we even mention that the main rule of the race is that all competing teams get the same materials and the same amount, that is 360 empty plastic bottles, caps, adhesive tape and stretch film. What's important, they design and build their boats themselves. Paddles prepared by the organizer are made of wooden shovels and plastic boards for cutting vegetables, and the drive, of course, is only the strength of human muscles.
For the first time in the entire history of the Great Bottle Race, it happened that last year's winner repeated his result and defended the title - and this is Pronatura Bydgoszcz. Unfortunately, there was also a disappointment, because an unexpected accident prevented the start of KS Archers Bydgoszcz.
I would like to thank very much all the starting teams, especially the winners of the Great Bottle Race and other competitions. But there are no losers here. Everyone put in a lot of ingenuity and commitment and together we created this unique spectacle, which every year is awaited with great anticipation by the masses of Bydgoszcz. I hope that we will have many equally successful and exciting races ahead of us.
And this is the final classification:
The safety of all starting teams was watched by invaluable WOPR as usual.
They are with us almost from the beginning and support us logistically:
Also a big thank you to companies and institutions that helped us organize:
And, as always, at the end of it can not do without thanks for all the "nameless" who at various stages helped us to implement this unique project. First of all, the team from the Promotion Department of Bydgoszcz City Council, Helena, Kinga and many others. I am still physically and mentally tired after weeks and actually months of preparation, but I still have this great finale in my eyes and I know that it was worth it. Actually, I'm already wondering how it will be next year and I am looking forward to the next challenges. I love this job !!!
I hope you and I had a great time with us.
See you next year
