"BOTTLE" CHRISTMAS TREE - ProNatura for inhabitants of Bydgoszcz - Bydgoszcz / Poland

Another year, another Christmass, so we are building again ... "bottled" Christmas tree. But this time, much bigger than last year - more than 7 meters high and nearly 3 m in diameter. We used it for approx. 1,200 plastic bottles.

Together with ProNatura we came to the conclusion that the tree, which stood last year at Blonie appealed to residents and has brought many warm reviews, so we wanted to repeat it "a little bit" larger scale .. The more that we had a great encouragement and great support from the person responsible for the visual image of the city.

But this tree is not only fun and art installation. It is also a reminder inhabitants about adequate segregation of garbage and waste is a subject very close ProNatura company.

We "produce" daily the next garbage, we pack them into bags and ... throw away. But if we consider what is happening to them later? How incredibly littering our environment? Plastic bottle breaks down after approx. 600 years! Or maybe you can give it a "second life" and reused. Eg. from 30 plastic bottles can be done sweatshirt fleece. You will say that it's complicated, because the machine, the appropriate technological process, etc. And you're right. But each of us can make such a bottle pot for flowers, piggy-bank and many other things. Human ingenuity knows no bounds, and many examples of this can be found in Internet.

We decided to combine a few ideas and show that you can make something out of nothing. It was a big challenge for us. During the construction phase there were unforeseen problems, not everything went as we planned, we spent much more time than expected, but ... we did it. Believing in success is a half of success and supported by the unfathomable layers of creativity and sometimes exhausting physically and mentally work gave such a final result.

But our "success" would not be possible without the support of others. Very strong in our work joined the company Hipernet which "revived" Christmas giving it a light illumination, which gave it an additional charm and character. Very valuable comments and suggestions obtained from a City Visual Officer, who also decided to place a great exposure of this unique Christmas tree.

When it has to "its" place we felt great relief and huge satisfaction that we succeeded. I hope that people also appeal to the unusual Christmas tree. And on the photos you can see how it was created step by step.
