THE GREAT BOTTLE RACE 2013 - The Race - Bydgoszcz / Poland

Success again - everyone survived! And now seriously. The next Great Bottle Race has just ended as part of a fantastic event organized by our city "Ster on Bydgoszcz".

These were three unforgettable days of incredible fun, for which the organizers, namely the Bydgoszcz Municipal Office, deserve great applause and thanks.

Time flies and it was the fifth race I organized, but it would not have been possible without the support of our invaluable sponsors.

We started as usual from the "beauty contest", ie the competition, in which the gathered fans decided which boat they liked the most. And they did it ... making noise. The loudest fans and hence the winner was the Unilever Poland team.

Moments later, it's time for more emotions. It turned out that it was kept secret until the last moment that Rafał Bruski, President of Bydgoszcz, will fly in the City team. Perhaps this was the answer to the recruitment of vice-president Jan Szopiński by the Entrepreneurs. The teams launched their boats and sailed to the start. And here another surprise, because it turned out that the person who will start the race is well-known actor Przemysław Cypryański.

And just for the record. All teams received the same materials and the same amount of materials, i.e. 360 plastic 2-liter bottles, caps, adhesive tape and stretch film. And they had to design and build boats themselves and the drive was only the strength of human muscles.

To my great satisfaction, the level of "tidiness" is getting bigger every year, but unfortunately it does not always go hand in hand with effectiveness. And that is why 3 teams who focused on efficiency, probably a little forget about efficiency and therefore did not finish the race. And the final order looked like this:
1. Remondis Bydgoszcz
2. Horus Innovative Industrial Materials
3. Unilever Polska
4. Radio Pik
5. Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage
6. TVP Bydgoszcz
7. Sławek & Friends
8. Cabaret OKO
9. Municipal Office of Bydgoszcz
Kujawsko-Pomorski Association of Employers and Entrepreneurs
Gazeta Wyborcza
Erasmus Team

The safety of the starting teams was watched by WOPR Bydgoszcz as usual.

Starting teams, in addition to gifts prepared by the City of Bydgoszcz, also received cups prepared by students of the Art Schools. Leon Wyczółkowski in Bydgoszcz and made of ... waste materials.
Big congratulations and thanks to the teams for their effort and ingenuity, as well as for the crowds of supporters enthusiastically cheering on their favorite teams. Just as many thanks to the volunteers and everyone who helped us organize this unique undertaking.

As usual, everyone had a great time and some teams have already announced a grim rematch next year. We keep you behind the word

And everyone wants to come back next year, so see you.

Watching this year's coverage, remember how it was in previous years: 201220112010 and 2009.

I would also like to thank very much the companies and institutions without whom it would not have succeeded.
